Friday in Trellis Bay

Cant figure out how to post photos from this ipad. Sorry. Today we're in Trellis Bay on Beef Island in the BVI's. We're in a holding pattern as we wait for our skipper Karl who is at the doctor's for a sore throat. The weather has been a bit challenging as has the sailboat. The throttle cable on the starboard engine broke and we had to take the boat in for service. Then while we were sailing, a line to the jib sail snapped while under sail. That was fixed the next morning but the dingy davit broke so we had to scramble to save it and now it is being towed. It has been a great trip otherwise. Neil, Terry, and I went diving one day to 2 different sites. Have snorkeled almost every other day. The underwater camera is taking great pictures. Really enjoying getting to know our new sailing buddies. Today we plan to sail to The Dogs and snorkel. The dogs are a group of islands off of Virgin Gorda. Then we will snorkel The Baths and sail to the Bitter End Yacht Club on Virgin Gorda for the night. That's the plan now but they just may change with the wind!
If rum is the answer, what is the question?

Camping on the Caribbean

When you're a kid you go to summer camp for a week or two. You stay in cabins with people you've never met before. Your camp counselor introduces you to new activities, you participate in team competitions, sing songs, and enjoy meals together with your new best friends.

Well Neil and I are doing an adult version of summer sleep away camp on a 47 foot catamaran in the Virgin Islands with 6 other people that we have only just met.

The Hacuna Matata is our home for the next 2 weeks. Starting in St. Thomas, we motored from Carlotte Amalie to St. John and moored at Maho Bay in the driving rain. It stopped raining once we moored and Pat, Kathy, Neil and I snorkeled.
